Mt Stirling, Wabonga, King River

Mt Buller resort viewed from Mt Stirling waits for the first snowfall and the hordes of tourists and snow lovers.
Mt Buller herself with Baldy shrouded in a cloud.
Looking towards Wabonga from the Circuit track leading down to the valley behind Mt Stirling.

First of the many King river crossings, this one leading to Pineapple Flat camping area.

Be prepared, although the tracks here even wet are only of easy to moderate difficulty it good to be prepared with recovery points and equaliser strap mounted to winch to avoid trying to fit them while you art in 3 feet of freezing water.

More fungi and moss.

Campfire and camp oven dinner.
Dry roasted chat potatoes and pan seared asparagus, rock salt, cracked pepper and a drizzle of olive oil. Oh and nice cold beers out of the Engel Fridge.

Lake Eildon Camp and New 4x4 Gadget

On our way to the King River valley behind Mt Buller we stopped at Lake Eildon on the way. Being cooler and with the threat of predicted rain we found the camping minus the usual hordes from Melbourne.

Popular free camping areas on the Delatite Arm of Lake Eildon closest to Mansfield were empty (except for some of their rubbish).

New awning

Across the road there was a pine plantation, don't remember much after that . .

Call Your Mum On Mothers Day

Next week is Mothers Day. Family is all that is really important. So unless you are a jackass or a weak pussy whipped nob. Give your Mum a call, its Mothers Day.
