One of the towns in Victorias famous 'Golden Triangle' is Maryborough part of the Golfields region. Between 1851 and the late 1860s Victoria dominated the world's gold output with a total of 80 million ounces (250,000 Kilos) of gold. However, much of Victoria remains unexplored and it is likely that several multi million ounce deposits in the state remain undiscovered. The wealth in the gold rush of the 1800's resulted in many majestic buildings being built in towns throughout the district. Maryborough is one of those towns.
This is the railway station of the town of less than 8,000 people today.
