A late Sunday afternoon drive to a spot 45 minutes from Bendigo we ended up at Greens Lake. It is a natural basin and forms an off stream storage for the water channels in the area and is filled by rainfall and floodwater runoff. A shallow lake in open country and open to any wind it is situated approximately 7.5 kilometres North East of the small township of Corop. Pretty well for 8 of the last ten years there was not much going on here but it is said to have carp, redfin and goldfish populations and the lake has a decent cement boat ramp at the camping ground.
