TED is a nonprofit devoted to 'Ideas Worth Spreading'. It began in 1984 as an annual conference devoted to Technology, Entertainment and Design (TED). The annual conference now brings together the world's most fascinating thinkers and doers, who are challenged to give the talk of their lives in just 18 minutes.TEDx furthers the spirit of Ideas Worth Spreading by bringing people together to share a TED-like experience through a program of local, self organised events. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These events are branded TEDx, where x=independently organized TED event.
